A flatplan shows where all articles and adverts are laid out, and in what order. It allows complete control of the publication production process avoiding confusion. A flat plan also needs to be clear so it can be easily understood with a chosen target audience to outline what your ideas are going to be.
I think you could have been clearer with your rationale for this flat plan: talked about colors, fonts etc
