4. How did you use new media
technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation
stages?
The text characters was rather hard to use so the animoto was rather brief.
I would say coming across these four stages, construction and research, planning and evaluation, the most difficult would have been the actually construction of putting everything together. The most difficult thing that I had to do was to use Premiere Pro CC, I had never used this or a camera before, So this had already set me behind everyone else that chose to do a film trailer/short film.

Evaluation Question 2
2) How effective is
the combination of your main products and ancillary texts?
Below is a detailed Prezi where I will be talking about the combination of my trailer, magazine cover and film poster. I will be talking about what similarities are present, how they are there and why. Within my film trailer, poster and website homepage I attempted to create synergy. The poster in particular was mysterious and elusive, so it intrigued the audience but also kept the story line and narrative as secret as possible so the audience could discover it for themselves when watching the film trailer. The film poster and trailer together combined work together to represent the artistic nature of the film, as well as the narrative. There are numerous elements throughout all my tasks that connect with each other, and I will explain all of this in my Prezi below.

Evaluation Question 1
1) In what ways does your
media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media
products?
In order for my film trailer to be recognized as a horror film trailer by my target audience, I have ensure to follow particular conventions which apply to this genre of film trailers. My product closely follows the conventions of real media products in many ways. I believe my trailer, poster and magazine cover all closely conform to a strict set of norms found within the horror genre. These conventions include the use of a dark colour scheme, often the colours black and red which are heavy signifies of blood, death and danger. A element commonly found within the horror genre is how they want the audience to be able to feel like what is happening is safe and no different from there normal day to day life. Once this has been accomplished, the audience will be able to connect with the film, and in conclusion to this, the audience will feel more frightened when the real horror kicks in. The way I have followed conventions of the horror genre is quite general. The fonts I have used are all conforming to the genre, but I have more specifically followed the codes and conventions of the slasher horror sub genre. These conventions are more specific, such as the use of a masked antagonist. A group of young people placed in danger, and the frequent representation of blood, gore and violence.

Finished Film Poster
This is the completed version of my film poster.
The elements of the film poster that I have improved are the fact that I have added a credit block at the bottom of the page. I have recently said that the only reason that I did not have that is because there was a issue with the font I needed to use. I have now passed that bridge and there it is. Changed the font color from a light blue to a pale white, the reason behind me doing this is because the light blue, although I believe it did fit the poster, that colour did not match my colour scheme for my film. I would improve this by taking a picture that is more beneficial to my film. Yet I do not think that my picture is one that would gain me a low grade.

Time Management Easter Holidays
It is the week after the easter holidays and the first lesson back, in this lesson we get the chance to finally go over our tasks and reevaluate what needs to be done and what needs to be improved. I need to improve my poster for sure and make a few more edits for my film trailer. On the other hand there are no improvments that I need to make for my blog as I have already edited all of the posts that have had previous comments on saying what I need to do to increase the mark.

Updated Film Poster
When I gained my feedback from my lecturer, informing me that my poster was not up to scratch and that they can be numerous characteristics that I could change to make this poster gain higher marks. I had to change my font as there was a problem with this although I got around it and moved forward, and I believe that the font for my masthead now is better than it once was. What I need to add to my poster at the bottom of the page is the credits for the film. The only reason I have not at this point is because when I was downloading the correct font, it did not download. So I will again download that font and try again. Once I have placed the credits at the bottom of the page I will post the next version on my poster on my blog.

Poster/Website Feedback

Above is the first bit of feedback that I have been given for both pieces of my ancillary tasks, yet my trailer has not been marked yet as my blog has not been checked, and it is on my blog. From this I will look back at what I have been informed to do to ensure that I have the best chance to get the highest marks that I can achieve.

Time Management, 11/2/15
Today is the last day in class that we are allowed to work on our blogs, and all our ancillary tasks. So I am going to take this opportunity to upload my most recent draft of my horror film trailer, and once I have got the feedback I can then go from there and see what I need to do to improve my film trailer, for example I believe I will need to use more sound and make the film trailer a little longer as it only lasts around one minute forty seconds.

Stuart Hall Theory of my Blog/Products
I can only apply the Stuart Hall Theory with my poster, my website and my horror film trailer. The way that I have interrupted people to read this is to be curious and fear what this film is going to be about, who is that person behind the mask? What does he want? Why is he there? Etc. The negotiated reading is that people would think that this mask is interesting and has the fear factor, but nothing more. And finally the oppositinal reading is that people will look at this and only see yet another teen horror with a rubbish alibi behind the mask. The same will apply to all of the products that I have created.

Background Music (Contrapuntal)
The reason that I have choose this song rather than any other song, to be honest there was no specific reason towards my picking of Imagine by John Lennon. I just had a feeling that when the killing was going on in the horror film trailer that this would fit very well. I wanted to use a low beat, slow paced song that would very much be classed as a contrapuntal piece of sound.

Tips on how to improve blog post
This was given back to me on how to improve my previous post. I have recently taken this into consideration and have now currently updated that post on how I was informed to make the post better.
Peer Review of My Blog
This below is a picture that I have taken on my phone and then sent it to my college e-mail. This is what people have reacted to my blog, these are positives and negatives. I also had to review my own blog and do the same, for this I wrote that I use the correct font, although I need to have more information. What I will need to do from this point onwards is to go over what people have wrote down and take that into account, for example one of my improvements is to use more media platforms i.e. powtoon and prezi.
Positives:
Positives:
- Good amount of information
- Wide range of print screens and pictures
- I have a wide knowledge of the horror genre
- The structure of my blog
- Lots of posts
- Use more platforms
- Add more colour
- Use different technologies

Example Text
This is an example of one of the pieces of text that I will be using in my horror film trailer. This font was the exact font that I had been looking for the this specific part. Remember 'Mistral'.

Beginning of the Year
In the christmas holidays I have finally recorded all (hopefully) of the footage that I need to make my horror film trailer. What I know need to do is edit all of the little scenes that I have recorded, put them all together and add simple black backgrounds with text on. I am thinking that this will take me quite a bit longer than the previous two tasks that I have had to complete, both in which still need a few tweaks. The reason that the horror film trailer will take a lot longer is because this is my main tasks, whereas my other two tasks are ancillary tasks. I also believe that this will be the hardest task that I will come across, not just this year but including last year as well. I have never used this piece of software before, and even though I have watched a few step by step videos on how to use this complex piece of software I still think it will slow my progress down.
